Stint

Comparison

A Toggl alternative when the invoice is the point

Toggl Track is a serious timer. Keep it if the reports, the mobile apps, or a team workspace are why you use it. If you are one person who bills hours, the gap is the invoice. Toggl's own documentation says it does not have built-in invoicing: you export the billable hours and write the bill somewhere else.

Stint starts from the same idea, a timer per client, and stops one step later. Unbilled entries become the invoice. You send a link. You mark it paid when the money shows up.

Where Toggl is the better tool

  • You already track on your phone, the desktop app, or inside another tool. Stint is a website.
  • You need team reports, roles, or a workspace more than one person uses.
  • Your invoice already lives in an accounting app, and all you wanted from Toggl was a clean export.

Where Stint is the shorter path

You stop the timer and the hours are already line items. There is no export, no second login, and no per-seat plan between the clock and the link you send. The price stays $7 a month or $49 once, whether you have two clients or twenty.

Sources checked October 2026: Toggl's help page "Does Toggl support invoicing?" and the time-tracking-for-invoicing feature page, both of which describe export rather than a client invoice.
